On Sunday, Donald Trump was rushed to safety after what the FBI called an apparent assassination attempt at his West Palm Beach golf course in Florida. The incident took place while Trump was playing golf at the Trump International Golf Club, located about 15 minutes from his Mar-a-Lago residence. Secret Service agents spotted the muzzle of a rifle—later identified as an SKS-pattern rifle—sticking out of the bushes as they conducted a routine security sweep of the course, typically staying one hole ahead of Trump and his group.
The suspect, 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, had been camped near the golf course for around 12 hours before the incident. Secret Service agents, who were about 300-500 yards away from Trump at the time, immediately engaged the suspect. Routh fled the scene without firing his weapon, leaving behind the rifle, two bags, a rifle scope, and a GoPro camera. Agents fired four to five shots when they saw the gun, but the suspect was not injured and managed to escape in a black Nissan SUV, which was later determined to have stolen license plates.
A civilian witness captured a photo of the vehicle and reported it to law enforcement, which led to Routh’s arrest about 61 kilometers away, in Martin County. Routh, who has a long criminal history dating back to the 1990s, including a 2002 conviction for possession of a fully automatic machine gun, was charged with firearm-related offenses. He had also previously been reported to the FBI in 2019 for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additionally, Routh had a history of attempting to volunteer for Ukraine’s foreign fighter legion after Russia’s invasion, but he was never officially accepted.
Trump, who was not injured during the incident, issued a statement assuring his supporters that he was safe. He later gave a detailed account of the event to Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, explaining that he heard gunshots and was quickly evacuated by the Secret Service to a reinforced vehicle. Trump expressed his gratitude for the swift actions of his security team, crediting them with keeping him safe.
Politically, Trump sought to blame President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for fostering a climate of political rhetoric that, according to him, contributed to the assassination attempt. He criticized them for their speeches on threats to democracy, stating that such rhetoric was putting his life in danger. Trump also referenced a previous assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024, during which a gunman opened fire at a rally, leaving Trump with minor injuries and killing a bystander.
In response, Harris expressed deep concern over the attempt on Trump’s life, while the Biden administration confirmed that both Biden and Harris had been briefed on the incident. Trump also stated that Biden had called him to express relief that he was unharmed, and the two reportedly had a cordial conversation. Meanwhile, Trump supporters gathered at Mar-a-Lago and the golf club to show solidarity, waving “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) banners and American flags.
Routh, who appeared in court on Monday for a brief hearing, did not enter a plea. He faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obstructed serial number, charges that could carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The FBI is now leading the investigation into the incident, and Routh is expected to return to court for further proceedings next week.
The incident has sparked renewed discussions about political violence in the U.S., and bipartisan leaders have expressed concern over the rising threats against political figures. A congressional task force set up after the July assassination attempt in Pennsylvania is requesting a briefing with the Secret Service on the growing security challenges surrounding high-profile political figures like Trump.

As the 2024 election season heats up, Republicans are strategizing on how to strike a balance between key issues like the economy and immigration while leveraging the ongoing culture wars to their advantage. With former President Donald Trump leading the charge, there’s a growing call within the party to focus on inflation and immigration rather than his penchant for personal attacks. However, down-ballot races in red and purple states show a different focus: the culture war.
In states like Montana and Ohio, where key Republican Senate challengers are running against Democratic incumbents, cultural issues such as transgender rights and “wokeism” are taking center stage. Red-state candidates like Tim Sheehy and Bernie Moreno are utilizing social issues to position their opponents as too liberal for their constituencies. These topics serve as powerful touchpoints for conservative voters, often resonating with their worldviews.
For instance, Sheehy’s opening ad for his Senate campaign in Montana zeroed in on topics like “drag queen story time” and gender-related policies in the military, setting a tone that appeals to culturally conservative voters. Similarly, Moreno in Ohio has highlighted issues of “wokeness” and cancel culture, framing his opponent as out of touch with Ohio’s more traditional values.
While Republicans focus on winning swing voters in key battlegrounds like Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan, their path to regaining the Senate majority depends heavily on retaining GOP strongholds. In states such as Montana and Ohio, the political climate leans strongly conservative. There, Republicans see an advantage in pushing a conservative-versus-liberal narrative, letting voters’ partisan tendencies take over.
GOP strategists recognize that in these red states, where Trump is expected to perform strongly, Senate candidates like Sheehy and Moreno don’t need to broaden their appeal to non-Trump voters. Instead, their goal is to shore up support among conservative voters, ensuring they don’t split their ticket between Trump and a Democratic Senate candidate like Jon Tester in Montana or Sherrod Brown in Ohio.
While down-ballot candidates emphasize culture wars, Republican strategists are advising Trump to focus more on economic concerns such as inflation and border security, which are seen as key issues for swing voters. These are traditionally areas where the GOP has had a messaging advantage, and Trump’s ability to win back moderates and independents will likely hinge on his stance on these issues.
Still, some Republican insiders believe that culture war issues could play a role in the presidential race, with a segment of the electorate looking at these topics as symbolic of broader conservative values. However, for now, the consensus is that Trump should keep his focus on bread-and-butter issues like the economy.
The Republican strategy for 2024 appears to be two-fold: focusing on traditional conservative issues like immigration and inflation at the national level while using culture war topics to drive home conservative values in critical Senate races. As the campaign progresses, it will be interesting to see how these strategies unfold and whether they can successfully propel the GOP to victory in both the White House and the Senate.
The stakes are high, and Republicans are working hard to ensure that both Trump and down-ballot candidates stay aligned with their core voters while appealing to the broader electorate. Whether these strategies will pay off remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the culture war is far from over in American politics.

Our Financial Condition
During the past 4 years of the Biden/Harris Democratically controlled Government, they spent $7 Trillion.
Current Debt to GTP is 122%
Debt to GDP is projected to be 172% by 2050 and 200% shortly thereafter and this is not a sustainable situation.

We are spending more on the interest of the $35T than we are on National Defense. As this number continues to climb very quickly, we are on a pace where all our tax receipts we take in will go to paying the national debt.
The current debt is the greatest threat to our national security. Think of this that the $35T we owe is greater than the economies of China, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, and India combined which works out to $266,000 per household or $106,000 per person and if we don’t pay this money now it passes down to our children.
Congress are not good stewards of the purse, there seems to be a culture in Washington of just continue to spend. Congress has been dysfunctional and irresponsible for a very long time. They also do not have the guts to make tough decisions and tell the American people what needs to be done before we continue to destroy our country financially. Many times, when they make decisions to spend Trillions its over 10 years, many think that I will not be here and someone else can deal with it. This is the coward’s way, and I do not know any American household that can run their households like how Washington runs its business. This is also causing us to endure huge inflation and the rising costs of goods and services. Social Security and Medicare will not be around if we do not stop the excessive spending and start cutting costs.
When are they ever going to say let’s get our fiscal house in order. When will they sit and project realistic budgetary priorities for next year. Every company in the private sector does this but only the government does not because they are not spending their own money. This is what happens when you elect nonbusiness minded people to Washington.
How do we change this and cure our problems:
Jerome Powell the Fed chairman recently said the debt is growing faster than the economy. We need to pay attention to the Fed Chairman.
The problem we have is that congress will never reform itself. It may take states to start this process. We have been downgraded by Fitch from a AAA+ to AA+. In November Moody downgraded us from stable to negative situation and in April IMF blasts us for unsustainable fiscal policy.
Now we have a new VP Harris running for President and she wants to add $Trillions of more spending to the deficit which will cause more inflation and cost more to pay it back. She wants to go after companies that she thinks are price gouging the American people, she is so wrong and shows her lack of business experience on this point as there is only a few % profit margin on groceries. If she does this, we will have stores with no food, and it will be like Venezuela for our company. This has been tried in the past and has failed. I have no idea who is giving her economic and monetary advice, but she needs to change immediately. She wants to give $25,000 to first time buyers, if she gives a million people this money, she will add another $2.5 Trillion to the debt. These people never stop trying to buy our votes and destroy our economy. I am seriously very scared for our country when we have people making decisions that never made payroll or ran a coffee shop. These are not the people you want in power running the largest economy in the world.
The dollar is losing its place as the world currency because of its decline. Countries like Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Bolivia, and maybe Saudi Aribia are losing confidence and are trading in other currencies, and this would be chaotic for the dollar if this keeps happening. It’s very important to have someone in the White House that understands economics and how to financially run our economy. We are on the road to look like Venezuela if we have 2 more years like the past 4 years. We know we have the two most inexperienced people running for President which will continue to make bad decisions every day or they are trying to destroy this country.
Be very careful who you vote for because we all depend on each other to make the right decision to protect our way of life and the survival of our country and the world.
